Daniel Owen is the vice president of Desert Polymer Flooring. He oversees business development, general process and operations improvement, sales management and system development. In addition to these responsibilities, he also supports the CEO in executive-level tasks, company decisions and driving long-range strategic vision and implementation.
Daniel is a widely recognized specialty coatings industry expert. He possesses deep knowledge of application techniques, environmental challenges and opportunities, resource allocation and product selection. Few professionals nationwide have the same level of experience, insight and troubleshooting ability.
Prior to joining the Desert Polymer Flooring team, Daniel was a technical consultant for the specialty construction products industry through his independent consultancy, Custom Formulated Products. Prior to this, he co-founded Tenec Coatings, a flooring contracting business. He is also owned Arizona Polymer Flooring (APF), a leading manufacturer of concrete coatings, which he built from a local niche operation into an industry powerhouse.
Daniel literally grew up in the industry, sweeping the plant floors of Arizona Polymer Flooring as a boy in 1992, and then moving on to serve in virtually every production, technical and leadership role within the company. He gained additional experience as a concrete coatings subcontractor during this time, fine tuning coating installation processes and gaining a deeper understanding of raw materials and chemistries used in the industry.
As vice president and ultimately CEO of APF, Daniel implemented new business systems and procedures, production practices, customer service practices and environmental initiatives that contributed to a vast and dynamic growth phase, positioning the company as an emerging industry leader nationwide. He has consulted on concrete flooring projects worldwide and served as a valued subject matter expert for key trade publications.
